Jumpin Jacks Birthday

It was my son's birthday on Saturday and he got the cutest gift from our neighbors. There is this place by us called Jumpin Jacks. He got 4 free passes to the indoor inflatable playground, a flipping frog named Jack, a pair of socks (wearing socks is mandatory), and magic jumping beans. I thought it was such a creative way to give free passes. I think this same concept could be used when giving gift certificates. Just add some fun little accessories and a simple gift card becomes a unique gift.

Totally Terrific Tins!!

A good friend of mine made these cute little tins for all of her friends for Christmas this year.  They fit perfectly in your purse and keep the pad of paper from getting destroyed.  She bought the pads of paper, the pens, and magnets all from the dollar store and covered them with scrapbook paper.  The tin and small envelopes were bought from Michael's.  She covered the top of the tin with scrapbook paper and added the persons name in chipboard.  I think they turned out really cute!  Here are a few more tin ideas...

Dustpan Cookies

To make Dustpan Cookies, bake or buy your favorite cookies. Break a few of them, and crush one or two to create cookie crumbs. Place the cookies and crumbs in a new dustpan, and wrap with clear food storage wrap. Attach a gift tag with one of the following poems:

While baking you this Christmas treat, I dropped it on the floor.
So I decided to just sweep it up and leave it at your door!

or

We "dust" think you're great.
Merry Christmas from your Crumby Neighbors.

or

While baking you some cookies,
there was knocking at the door.
As I jumped up to answer it,
the pan fell to the floor.

I stood among the cookie crumbs
and wondered what to do.
The day was late, the time was short,
I had no gift for you.

I bent and swept the cookies up
into a small dustpan.
A friend like you, I told myself,
would surely understand.

The gifts that matter most in life
are those the heart does send.
With that in mind, I give to you
these cookies from a friend.

Thanksgiving gifts

Thanksgiving is right around the corner and I found some cute Thanksgiving gifts that you can hand out to friends or family that come for dinner or show up unexpectedly at your door.

These cute Turkey Truffles are from The Swiss Colony.  I thought they would be easy to make yourself with some store bought truffles, candy corn, and tube frosting.

I made these little Thanksgiving Blessing Mixes last year.  They were a big hit!  I was able to make a lot of them in a short amount of time.

These are the least expensive gift I made.  Who doesn't like curling up with a warm cup of cider on a cold November night?  Enjoy!

Truckload of Chocolate

Got me a new cool resource: thetoymaker.com
This little truck is just one of dozens of cute paper toys that you can print out right from her site for free! I am loving this cute truck- you could fill it full of chocolate kisses and say, you deserve a truckload of love, or any other cheesy thing. Her paper toys book looks pretty neat too. Most of it is geared toward children, but lots, like this truck, just take a little imagination for lots of different uses. Happy paper folding!

A Friend having a bad day!

Every January I make up little gift bags full of smiley face party stuff.  I get things from the Dollar Store, party stores, Oriental Trading and grocery stores.  I fill the smiley face bags with candy and other party type items with a smiley face on them.  I attach a tag that says, "Don't worry, Be happy!  Someone is thinking about you today.....Me!"  and then I sign it.  I keep these around for quick gifts when I find out that someone has had a bad day or is going through something sad.    ( www.orientaltrading.com)

I also found this poem at The Idea Door that you give with a bag of hugs and kisses candy. (The bag idea came from www.craftoncue.wordpress.com)

A Hug and Kiss from me to you,

For when you're down and feeling blue.

You may not smile at a silly card,

But frowning at chocolate is really hard!

Love, Your budd
(THANK Shelby Farnsworth for sharing this cute poem.)

You're tops with me!

A fun gift to give anyone is a few large potatoes (one for each member of their family) and all the toppings.  I bought some burlap and sewed up a quick bag using twine.  I bought salt and pepper shakers from the dollar store, Tabasco sauce, potato topping shakers, sour cream, a can of chili, real butter, and some velveeta cheese.  I put all this in the bag with a tag that says, "You're Tops With Me!"  You have to make sure you can give the gift to someone close to a fridge if you want to add all the toppings that need to be cold. I make up a few bags at a time and add the items that don't need refrigeration.  That way I can make a quick run to the store to add the extra items right before I give it to them.  If I know they won't have refrigeration, I just give them the bag I already have put together.  This gift is great for anyone of any age!

Thanks for being a "SOUP"er friend!

I thought you could attach this saying to some soup mix for a quick thank you. If you want it to be really special make some soup mix of your own. There is a recipe at My Recipes for a Nine Bean Soup Mix.

Thanks for being a "SOUP"er friend!

I also found a couple different sites that have soup mixes that you could use. At Wilde Thyme Foods there are lots of yummy looking mixes that you just add water to.

Harry and David has lots to choose from too.

You could also use the tag line "Hope you have a 'SOUP'er Day!"
